Pelvic Health Physical Therapy

Stop suffering from your discomfort and embarrassment and focus on what truly matters in life!

Dr. Becca has changed my life. I have dealt with chronic pelvic health issues that were exacerbated within the last year due to hip surgeries. I was living with constant discomfort for years, until I started working with Becca. I have seen many different doctors, none of which I believe cared as much about my health and well being as Becca has. I haven’t felt this good in a long time and I confidently attribute that to my time spent with Becca. I also had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Jacki, who was equally as knowledgeable and caring. Thank you Tri Cities Pelvic Health! I praise your practice to anyone I meet with similar issues. You will not be disappointed by the care provided by this clinic!

Pelvic health issues are very common, but that does NOT mean they are normal.

Often, the fact that they are common just means you may have felt dismissed or hopeless when bringing them up with friends or providers… if you even felt comfortable bringing them up at all.

But it doesn’t have to be that way! Urinary or bowel health issues, sexual dysfunction, pelvic pain, prolapse, low back pain, hip pain, tailbone pain, pregnancy changes, birth prep, or postpartum recovery are ALL things we can help with!

“Jacki is both compassionate and incredibly knowledgeable- she spends extra time making sure that all questions are answered and that you feel completely comfortable with all treatments. Highly recommended!”

How is Tri Cities Pelvic Health Different?

  • You can expect 1 on 1, personalized treatment from the same Doctor of Physical Therapy each time you come to physical therapy. No aides, no assistants, no getting passed back and forth and trying to go over your story again.

  • We see only pelvic health and peripartum patients. This is TRULY our passion and specialty and not just something we do here and there in the mix of other patient populations. All of our doctors of physical therapy also have extensive background in general outpatient orthopedic physical therapy, so can assess and address you as a whole person, helping to find the root cause of your problems.

  • You can count on maximizing our time together. We do not believe in just being there to count your exercises for you, hooking you up to machines, or a one size fits all approach. Instead, we are continually reassessing your situation, modifying your treatment as needed, and fully utilizing our sessions.

  • At the heart of this business is true connection with people. You are not just another number coming through the door, but instead we care about you and genuinely want to see you succeed in all of your goals!

“Jacki is such an amazing asset to all pregnant and postpartum women! She is so knowledgeable and compassionate when providing care. If/when I have another baby I definitely will utilize her services. What an incredible women’s health PT and strong advocate for women!” -Lorana

What does a typical course of pelvic health physical therapy look like?

  1. Your care starts even before we see you. We are happy to talk with you, get to know you, and answer any questions to make sure we are a good fit for each other and you feel confident in your choice.

  2. You will be sent a comprehensive intake form so that we can learn more about your history and concerns and start developing a framework and priorities for your initial evaluation.

  3. At your initial evaluation, we will chat more about anything that didn’t come up on the intake form, complete an external and internal examination, and get you started with treatment. (Internal examinations are never mandatory based on your comfort level)

  4. You will be given some sort of home program to continue gathering information and/or working on factors that are contributing to your symptoms.

  5. Treatment and follow up visits will vary based on your needs but may include manual therapy, specific exercises, and education to keep you moving forward. We will continually be watching to make sure we are on the right course, and will pivot as needed.

  6. By the time you are finished with physical therapy, we hope that not only are your symptoms decreased or gone, but you have tools to set you up for success in preventing future problems too.

“Jacki is absolutely wonderful to work with. She is kind, professional, and highly knowledgeable about birth, the postpartum period, pelvic floor health, and overall body mechanics in the context of PT. She is passionate about women’s health and is a huge asset to our community.”

What do you treat?

SO MUCH! Honestly, the pelvic floor is a foundation for many of our body movements. Plus, through pregnancy, postpartum, or other life transitions, our entire bodies are affected, and we believe that we should never just look at one body part in isolation anyway. But, here are a few common things we see:

  • Low back, tailbone, or hip pain: These areas of the body are intricately connected with the pelvic floor, so we can tease out what is the driving factor and how to treat it.

  • Urinary dysfunction: frequency, urgency, leakage, nighttime urination, difficulty emptying, and more

  • Bowel dysfunction: constipation, urgency, painful bloating, leakage, difficulty emptying, excess straining, hemorrhoids, and more

  • Pelvic Pain: Pain that is essentially anywhere between your belly button and your knees could potentially be classified as pelvic pain. Whether you are having pain associated with endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, tampon use or other penetration, we can help.

  • Sexual Dysfunction: pain with intercourse, difficulty with orgasm, urinary leakage, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, painful ejaculation and more

  • Pregnancy and Birth Prep: Address any aches and pains through pregnancy, learn how to safely stay active, and learn strategies to use in your upcoming birth.

  • Postpartum Recovery: Pelvic floor dysfunction of many kinds, diastasis recti, and other issues are common after having a baby, or you may also just want to have guidance on returning to activity after such a big transition. Let us support you!

  • Mastitis or Clogged Duct Care: What a pain in the boob! We will try to get you seen ASAP to provide therapeutic ultrasound, manual therapy targeted at lymphatic drainage and upper body mobility, and education to help recover and prevent future clogs.
