Orthopedic Physical Therapy

Our head to toe approach has you covered whether you have aches and pains, are recovering from an injury or surgery, or want to improve your performance

We look at the body as a complete system. Therefore, no matter what region you are having concerns with, we can help! Our therapists all have extensive training in general orthopedics in addition to the pelvic floor, so you’ll get all of the traditional knowledge you’d expect with an orthopedic physical therapist with the added bonus of a pelvic health lens if needed.

For our patients who are coming to us with pelvic health concerns, this means we work to find the main driver of your symptoms regardless of where it is in the body and can also help you when something else gives you trouble.

For people who come to us for things that they don’t associate with the pelvic floor, we can clear that it isn’t a contributing factor, and then proceed with getting you the care you need!

Ultimately, we are here to treat you as a complete person and we take pride in the fact that our patients choose us because we take the time to listen and get to the bottom of the issue, no matter where it is!

  • “I highly recommend Tri Cities Pelvic Health! Jacki was so wonderful to work with. Pelvic health can be such a sensitive topic to discuss, and Jacki provides the ideal environment that is both professional and comfortable. Jacki helped me get back to feeling like my old self again. If you’re on the fence about seeking help for your own pelvic health, do it!”

 FAQs

  • The short answer is, it doesn’t matter! You are getting our full attention and brain in any case and it is our job to assess you thoroughly and work with you to make a tailored plan of care. When we first talk to you to understand your concerns, we will be able to give you some clarity on which appointment type/paperwork would be best to start with, but in the end we treat YOU as a person and don’t get too caught up in the diagnosis or category.

  • We utilize a well-rounded approach to care that can be adapted to your specific presentation, goals, and preferences. Often, we incorporate hands-on manual therapy, education around functional daily activities, and strength or mobility training to make sure your symptoms go away and stay away! We also offer dry needling services and cupping as part of your comprehensive plan of care as needed. With both private treatment rooms and access to a full gym space, we will meet you where you are at in your unique process!

  • In general, because we are able to work with you for hour-long appointments each time you come in, we find that the majority of our patients don’t need to be seen more than once per week in the clinic alongside manageable homework on your own time that is in line with your goals and capacity.

  • We totally get that you want to know this and wish that it was a simple answer!  Because the factors that could be impacting your condition are different for everyone, even people with the same diagnosis, we don’t know until we start working with you. Things such as how long you’ve been having a problem, your medical history, your daily habits, how much you can devote to your journey, etc. can all play a part. What we do know is that you should be seeing some positive change within the first 3-5 visits. Then, we will continue to work with you until your symptoms are not only gone but you have the tools to keep them away for good!

  • Nope! Washington is a direct-access state for physical therapy services so you can see us without jumping through the hoops of seeing a physician first. Our therapists are well trained in screening for issues that would warrant a follow up with a physician and will make sure you are in the right place too. Some insurance providers do require a referral, so if you are worried about reimbursement for our services, you can call to check with them.

  • We almost always  give you things to work on at home, but what that looks like will vary based on the person! If you are already overloaded with your life to the point that having one more thing to do feels impossible, we may just lean into how to make the things you’re already doing just a little bit better for your body. If you already have a robust exercise program, maybe we just tweak it slightly or make sure you have the right cues to optimize your time. If you want guidance in starting to work out or can dedicate a small amount of time to physical therapy exercises out of the clinic, we can work with you on that too. The bottom line is that what you do outside of the clinic matters , but we are going to meet you where you are to make sure your “homework” is sustainable. It will only work if it works for YOU!

  • It can often be helpful to wear clothing that is flexible enough not to get in your way of moving. Depending on what we are working on, it can also be beneficial to be able to expose the area of concern (ie having shorts so we can access your knee). However, we always have options in the clinic for you to change into if needed!
